Learn with Andrew in North Carolina and New Jersey this Summer!

Andrew will be teaching at Sawtooth School for Visual Art in Winston-Salem, NC this May and Peters Valley School of Craft in Layton, NJ this August! In both locations, he’ll be teaching powder coating techniques.
At Sawtooth (May 9-11), he’ll teach how to start your journey into powder coating by talking about how to properly prepare metal. Then you’ll go into the different approaches to powder coating and dive into the fundamentals of sifting, stenciling, different types of sgraffito, and drawing on powder coated surfaces. From there, you’ll push the boundaries and go over how to powder coat non-metal materials!
Here’s a little information about what you can expect at his class at Peters Valley (August 15-19): Traditional powder coating can be intimidating… the setup can be expensive, it can be messy, and it is designed for batch production. However, this workshop will demystify the process and make it more accessible. We’ll go one step further and use mixed media techniques to customize your powder coated creations. We’ll embellish surfaces using illustration, sgraffito, and image transfers! No drawing skills required!
Both workshops are great for all skill levels—established longtime makers and new students alike. If you’d like to get more information or sign up, check them out using the links below. Just a note, we’ve recently heard from Sawtooth, and his class is halfway sold out. So, don’t delay if you’d like to learn with Andrew this summer!
