Hey Everyone!
Well, it's been quite a few days here at Allegory Gallery. We've had a number of things happen that we really wish didn't, but we've survived them all (really tempting fate there, eh? lol)!
Our furnace at the store went out on December 23rd. We realized it had happened around 3:30pm that day, and the store was already very cold when we walked in, so it had been out for some time (though it was working fine when we left on the 22nd). Very long story short, we found a repairman who spent the entire evening with us (from about 8:30pm till 2:00am) to help us get it up and running again—though the fix was costly…but not as costly as a new boiler! And then, it was off again on the 24th. We hope it was just a mishap on the 24th, as we've gotten no notice from our tenant that it's been off again, so we'll find out tomorrow how it's all going! We've also had some issues with our pellet stove at Star Cottage Studio. We think we had an airflow problem, and things seem to be looking up there, as well.
What we can say is that through it all, so many people have been so very helpful and supportive and we're grateful for that. If you were sending good energy our way through all of this, we thank you very much!
Now, the main event for this blog post…we've planned out all of our Creative Make-Alongs for 2025! If you don't know what a Creative Make-Along is, it's an online event that we hold where we gather together on Zoom and just hang out with one another making things. Sometimes we have a theme that we announce before the hangout, and sometimes we just gather with whatever projects we're working on at the time. It's a lot of fun, and there's no pressure to work on anything in particular. As a matter of fact, you can join without any project if you'd like!
We have created events on our page on Facebook, so if you're there, you may want to hit "Interested" or "Going" to those events to not only have it remind you when they happen, but also to help us get some publicity for them. The more people who respond to events on Facebook, the more they show those events to others who may be interested.
If you're not on Facebook, just know that the events will take place on the next-to-last Friday of every month from 7:30pm (ET) till about 9:30pm (ET). So, mark your calendars today! We'll also always send out an email the day of the Creative Make-Along with the Zoom link. We withhold the link until the day of so that we have less of a chance of encountering spammers or uninvited guests with a public link.
We've heard from many that they wanted us to do these more often and more regularly, so there is no one every month. The first will be on January 24th! On our Bead in the New Year Calendar, this day is marked "Design with Friends Today"…so we already had some planning happening there ;-)
